Hi,

       I am planning to update my blog in the coming days and insert some graphics at long last. My video which I have been working on for some time has been delayed due to technicalities, but I believe that I will be able to overcome them within a few days.

I am also refining my plans for this year and intend to be providing more information of value as well as more free stuff. This blog should look a lot more attractive once the refurbishments are complete. Till next time.

     I am sure that if you have been on the internet for any length of time you are very aware of Affiliate marketing. Around about now your email will be filled with urgent messages about the new release, Namely PPC Classroom. Please note that this post is  not a promotion for that program.

This is simply my view of a big Affiliate launch and some of the things to be aware of. PPC Classroom is run by Amit Mehta and Anik Singal. Amit Mehta is a young guy who has been outstandingly successful as a PPC affiliate. In 2007 he earned over $2.4 million dollars. This launch sees him offering a free DVD of all his key techniques. all you pay is postage. 

This is certainly an excellent offer if PPC is your thing. The catch though is that after 30 days you are charged $97 a month ongoing tuition. Of course we all know that there is no such thing as something completely free. At least these guys are up front about it.

For me the question is whether PPC is the right way to go as far as traffic is concerned even if you do know what you are doing. I still think that you can lose your shirt with pay per click, but at least with the kind of information included in this DVD you can minimize the risk.

       Earlier this week we had the last of our official modules of Alex Jeffrey’s mentoring programme. Fortunately unlike other internet marketers Alex is not going to abandon his students just because the scheduled number of modules have been completed. Well done Alex!

I think that this is one of the things that sets alex apart from other internet marketers. He cares! I am certainly looking forward to further advise and coaching in the coming months. I for instance have not yet managed to complete a video, even though I have completed a Powerpoint presentation.

Apparently I do not have enough RAM!  I am now looking for other methods of producing a video that requires less than 500MB of RAM. I would welcome any suggestions from others. Talk soon!

     Are you struggling to get traffic to your site? Are you perhaps still trying to find the right niche to promote? Perhaps you are not even sure what niche to enter.  Then this may be just what you have been looking for.

Perserverence is absolutely essential in order to succeed at establishing an online business. Of course it is not as easy as it sounds. When we fail at a task it is always tempting to think maybe I should try something else.

Winners never quit and conversley quitters never win. The things that I believe will keep you going are firstly your ultimate goal, that you decided upon when you set out to start your business in the first place. It is something that we should remind ourselves of frequently and ideally first thing each morning and before going to bed at night.

Secondly what keeps you going are the plans and goals you have set for yourself. If you have planned well not only for the year ahead but also for each month, week and even the next day it will help to keep on keeping on.

Thirdly we should remind ourselves of the rewards of meeting our goals, of the time freedom to do the things we desire and the money to spend on those things we have always longed for.  I think that a final important thing to do if you seem not to be making any progress, is to take a break rather than quitting. Take a break with friends or family.  I am confident that you will return refreshed and with new vigour to achieve your tasks and goals.

        I am sure that even if you are new to the internet you will have heard about keywords. Keywords are what people use when they are searching for information on the internet. They are what Google uses to rank websites. They are vital for search engine optimisation. If you want subscribers to find your website then you need to have the commonly searched for keywords in your website title and in the content of your website.

When you are new to the internet of course it is not always easy to find the right keywords. The competition is fierce. Obviously the established internet marketers are very adept at finding the best keywords for their websites in order to rank high in google.         Listbuilding is the only way to start an online business that will last. Last night we had another excellent webinar with our mentor Alex Jeffries. These webinars are a really good wake up call, because although I have had my Blog up for what seems like an age (in reality only about six weeks), I am still only starting to build a list.

I am sure like many of you in the same position you feel frustrated like I do. Therefore I think that it is a good time to review where you are and how far you have already come. Be positive! I know that if I look back over the last six weeks I have already come a long way and most importantly learnt a number of new skills.

Of course there is stil a mountain to climb, but listbuilding is definitely the right way to proceed. When I look back I know that as a non technical person I have struggled with many of the tasks that others probably completed with ease. But Hey! sometimes when things are hard to achieve they really stay with you and perhaps you are less likely to forget the skills you have acquired.

I know that I have spent a lot of time trying to set up my blog the way I would like it to be and so have probably not devoted enough time to driving traffic to my blog. Of course if nobody knows you are out there then they will not come to your blog. I know from many years in marketing that the first thing you have to do is sell yourself. People need to know who you are, what you have to offer and what is in it for them. This is where building relationships becomes so important.

I have to admit that I have not as they say put myself about enough as yet, but that is something that I am now going to correct. One final thought on listbuilding is that before we get to that stage It is important to decide on what niche you are in. There are a huge number of niches available and whilst making money online is a very popular one, there are many others with less competition that are just as lucrative.
