  • Going Green – Artificial trees

    Hi,

I am sure we have all heard about the destruction of rain forrests in different parts of the world, which of course contributes to global warming since the trees absorb carbon dioxide. If we continue to destroy trees at the present rate and persist with such  a high consumption of fossil fuels, then many believe we will destroy our planet.

Today we hear that scientists in the United Kingdom have developed an artificial tree that will absorb large amounts of carbon dioxide far greater than any tree that we grow. They predict that unless we curtail our use of fossil fuels then our countryside could well in the future be covered with these ugly objects in order to try and save the planet.

Governments throughout the world all talk about green initiatives, but none of them encourage the development of alternatives to fossil fuels. They talk about battery vehicles, but we all know that is not the answer. Sadly they all have a vested interest in continued use of fossil fuels due to the high tax revenue they derive from them.

Surely the answer is to develop a new fuel that does not polute the atmosphere, and which can be used in existing vehicles. Biofuel is not an answer any more than battery power, as it makes use of crops. Hydrogen power is being developed, but that sounds dangerous as it may be explosive and does not make use of existing engines. If we could reduce the power of the oil companies and desire of governments for revenue from fossil fuels, then I am sure we could see the develoment of a fuel that would save the planet.

  1. Your blog is really a breath of fresh air compared to the normal rubbish I learn on solar technology. Several scams on the market. Thanks for helping me out.
